Sabbatical Officers are elected student leaders who work full-time for a year to represent and advocate for Oxford students. They lead projects, sit on University committees, and support Common Room representatives and societies.

Our History

Oxford SU (Oxford University Students' Union) is the official student representative body for students at the University of Oxford. It was established in 1961 to provide a central voice for student concerns, coordinate student activities, and advocate for student welfare.

The SU became fully independent from the University in 1974, though it remained recognised as the official representative body.

Today, Oxford SU hosts the annual Oxford Freshers' Fair, runs elections for student representatives, provides advice services, and works to ensure student voices are heard in University decision-making.
