Part-Time Officer Elections – Michaelmas Term
In Michaelmas Term we will be running elections for our new Part-Time Officer roles.
Our Part-Time Officers are volunteers who play an important role in representing students and shaping the student experience. We will be electing:
- Equity Officers
- Community Officers
These new positions will be pivotal in how Oxford SU does representation, providing students more opportunities to lead on student voice. Whilst in role, you may support policymaking, campaigning, and lobbying in conjunction with other Officers on equality and community-based issues at the University of Oxford.
The expected workload for these positions is approximately 2–4 hours per week of term; however, workload may be variable across a term.
A core difference between our Equity and Community Officer positions is that our Equity Officers will also be responsible for chairing an associated RepCom, which will feed into Conference of Common Room (CoCR) discussions.
Our Part-Time positions are voluntary, unpaid roles and do not qualify as ‘major union office holders’ for the purposes of the Articles and the Education Act 1994. This means that any of our Part-Time Officers could go on to serve as a Sabbatical Officer and have the opportunity to run for a second term.
