Oxford SU sits on all major University committees from Council to divisional boards and working groups as well as selected college committees. This is what we refer to as our primary purpose: ensuring that student voice is embedded across University decision-making structures.

To do this well, we rely on you. Through course reps, common room representatives, open consultations, and policy research, we gather and analyse student feedback across a range of issues from assessment and access to cost of study and equity. This insight is used to brief your elected officers and inform their work on committees. You’ll find more detail in the sidebar, including live consultations, the SU policy book, and outcomes of recent representation work.

We also support academic representation and student-led democracy through the Conference of Common Rooms (CCR), Representative Committees (RepComs), and our Policy & Insight team. We update these pages and our Instagram with tangible outcomes and next steps, so you can see how your input translates into action.
